  • Please let your skin therapist know if you are using acutane, retinol, or any other acne products.
  • Let hair grow at least 1/4 of an inch so the wax can grasp the hair.
  • Please inform your skin therapist of any medications you are on that may make your skin sensitive.
  • Do not shave before your appointment.
  • Do not go tanning before getting waxed, this can lead to tears in the skin
  • Do not go tanning within 24 hours after waxing, skin will burn.
  • Make sure your appointment is at least one week after a period so the skin is not so sensitive.
  • Avoid the use of caffine, before treatment, as this stimulates the nerves.

Waxing is the longest-lasting temporary hair removal technique available. When the wax is warm, it enters the follicle, allowing the hair to be pulled out from the root. The Skin therapist will dip a waxing stick into a pot of warm wax, then spread it onto your skin and hair. She will next apply a cloth strip over the warm wax, pressing firmly so the cloth, hair and wax adhere to one another. When the wax has cooled, your skin therapist will pull the strip off, in the opposite direction of your hair growth, this will pull the hairs out by the root. Immediately after waxing, your skin therapist will apply pressure to the area with her hand to help ease the pain. As this puts pressure on the nerves. Next, therapist will apply a soothing lotion over the waxed areas.

The best antidote to the pain of waxing is to try to relax. When a client is tense, the follicle closes and the wax doesn't reach the root of the hair. The more often you get a wax treatment, the more accustomed you'll grow to the experience.

Brazilian Waxing
There is no need to feel embarrassed. You will be escorted to our private, relaxing treatment room, where you will be left alone to remove your clothing and underwear. A paper thong will be provided for you. You will be asked to lay down on a bed with clean sheets, and cover with the towel provided. The Brazilian wax is one of the most requested waxing services. Most women request a Brazilian because it gives a clean, close wax and the freedom to wear even the most revealing swimwear and lingerie. This is one of the most requested service, for a bride, the week before her wedding date. The term Brazilian wax, is the removal of all or almost all of the hair on a women's pubic and buttocks area. This includes everything from front to back, inside and out. Many women leave a small strip of hair, often referred to as a landing strip, at the front of the pubic area. The hair is snipped so the wax can reach the follicles. The key for wax to penetrate into the follicles is to relax. Many women claim the treatment is not nearly as painful as it sounds. Those not so skilled will go over and over the same area prolonging the pain or discomfort. An experience skin therapist will pull off the wax in a clean, fast movement. Hair grows back in 3 to 6 weeks. Hair must grow back by half inch before waxing again (up to six weeks).
